HOW IT ALL WORKS

Battle Shapes is an auto-battler you bet on. AI-built shapes fight to the knockout while you wager Shards (◈) on who survives. This guide covers every system in the arena.

Betting & Payouts

Every match opens with a 14-second betting window. Pick a fighter and lock in a wager before the window closes — once the bout goes live, betting is closed and the button greys out.

  • Each fighter shows odds (e.g. 2.40×). Payout if they win is your wager × odds, rounded.
  • Your wager is deducted the instant you place the bet.
  • Odds are derived from the fighters' stats — stronger fighters have lower odds (smaller payout), underdogs pay more.
  • Even a heavy favorite can lose: every fight keeps at least a ~10% upset chance on both sides, so underdog bets stay alive.
  • A full match cycle (betting + battle) runs about 44 seconds.

Shards & Prestige

Shards (◈) are your betting currency. Everyone starts with ◈1,000.

  • Win a bet to grow your stack; lose and the wager is gone.
  • If you hit ◈0 with no pending bets, you go bankrupt and are auto-prestiged: your balance resets to ◈1,000 and your prestige count goes up by one.
  • Prestige is a badge of how many times you've climbed back from nothing — it's shown on the leaderboard.
  • Going all-in is safe from a false bankruptcy: dropping to ◈0 while a bet is still live won't trigger prestige until that bet resolves.

Fighters & Combat Roles

The roster holds 160+ AI fighters. Each has a shape, rarity, five stats, and a signature ability. A fighter's shape decides its combat role:

Ranged

Keep their distance and fire projectiles — bullets and lasers — while strafing.

circle · star · rhombus
Melee

Charge in and lunge, dealing damage on body-slam contact.

square · triangle · hexagon

The five stats

  • HP — health; also makes the shape bigger and tankier.
  • Speed — movement and how fast they close in or reposition.
  • Aggression — raw damage output.
  • Armor — reduces incoming damage.
  • Intel — overall combat smarts factored into their rating.

Rarity (Common → Rare → Epic → Legendary) boosts a fighter's rolled stats.

Rebirth — the (#) beside a name

When a fighter loses 4 bouts in a row, it is reborn as a fresh iteration. You'll see a number grow beside its name — Vex (2), then Vex (3), and so on.

On rebirth, the fighter starts completely clean:

  • Win/loss record resets to 0–0.
  • Stats and rarity are re-rolled.
  • It earns a brand-new ability appropriate to its role.
  • It drops any belt it was holding.
  • Its name, shape, and color carry over so the lineage stays recognizable.

Abilities

Every fighter has one signature ability that triggers periodically mid-fight with its own on-screen animation. Abilities are locked to combat role — a ranged shape never gets a melee-only technique, and vice-versa.

Tournaments & the Neon Belt

  • Matches are arranged into rolling 8-fighter brackets; winners advance round by round.
  • About every 2 hours a Neon Belt title bout is staged. Title bouts are a best-of-3 series — the first fighter to win 2 games takes the belt and carries it until they're beaten in another series. You can bet on each game.
  • About every 3 hours a giant 32-fighter Mega Tournament takes over the arena — a much larger bracket than the usual run.

Streaks & Daily Bonus

  • Winning bets back-to-back builds a streak. Your best streak ever is tracked and ranked on the leaderboard.
  • A losing bet resets your current streak to zero.
  • Claim a daily bonus of Shards once every ~22 hours — keep the habit going to grow your daily streak.
